Grandparents'/Special Persons' Day is changed from Wednesday, March 21, 2018 to Monday, April 16, 2018.
Unfortunately its looks like we will be getting some snow on Wednesday, March 21st. When we scheduled our Grand Parent/Special Person Day, we thought we would be safe from winter's grip if we scheduled in the Spring. Today is the first day of spring and the weather report is calling for significant snow. We value our guests' safety just as much as our students and do not want to create a situation where our guests will have difficulty traveling to our school. We want this day to be stress free and enjoyable. The children are looking forward to their grandparents and/or special guests visiting their class. I cannot predict exactly what the weather will be but forecast models are calling for significant accumulation. We are rescheduling the day for April 16, 2018. I will send home a letter today with the new date. My apologies for any inconveniences but the safety of friends and relatives is equally important. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to April 16, 2018.
Please read the Principal's Letter on Security.

The Richard Stockton PTA has donated 25 Chromebooks and a cart to the school. The students and staff would like to thank the PTA for their generosity and awesome gift to the school. The cart enables us to bring a mini computer lab to any classroom any time of day. Staff can differentiate instruction while students work on multiple tasks. These computers will assist students in all areas of study and help them gain a greater command of technology. Again, thank you to all of the PTA members who made this happen
On Wednesday November 8, 2017, Ms. Carol Roskoph, Cherry Hill Township Councilwomen, presented Richard Stockton with a Proclamation from the Mayor and Town Council proclaiming November 8, 2017 Richard Stockton Food Drive Day.
As a National School of Character, the students and staff at Richard Stockton should be commended for their generosity and positive community spirit. There are hundreds of families in Cherry Hill who need assistance during the holiday season. As a result of this donation, the food pantry will able to pass out much needed food.
This was a community effort. We would like to thank all of the parents who sent food in with their children to make this happen. We would also like to congratulate Mrs. Pendleton's 3rd grade class for donating the highest total of food (117 Pounds) and the highest average per student (6.5 pounds per student). As a result of their hard work, the Stockton PTA has graciously agreed to donate a pizza party to the class. Thank you for your competitive spirit.
The culmination of our food drive was a school wide assembly. Mr. Riordan challenged Mrs. Mulligan to a foul shooting competition in front of the student body. The loser would get a pie in the face. Mrs. Mulligan beat Mr. Riordan, and was such a good sport, decided to take a pie to the face as well. Thank you Mrs. Mulligan.
As a National School of Character, Richard Stockton will begin a school wide canned food drive on November 1, 2017. All grades will participate. The food drive will run through November 7, 2017. We ask that each student bring 2 canned foods into school. We will weigh the total amount of canned foods per class then divide by the number of students who participated. The class with the highest average (weight) per student will receive a pizza party courtesy of the PTA. To make this a little fun, Mr. Riordan and Mrs. Mulligan will compete in a foul shooting competition. The loser will get a whipped cream pie to their face in front of the student body. Students from the winning class will receive the honor of pushing the pie into the losers face. Our food collection will be donated to the Cherry Hill Food Pantry. Thank you for your anticipated participation!

The Cherry Hill Fire Department has been a partner with the Cherry Hill School District providing fire safety education for many years. In 2014 we presented a new program entitled "Safety Smart". Safety Smart is a school-based curriculum that links teachers with community safety experts and parents. Safety Smart is being taught in grades 1, 3, 5 and 6 as part of the Physical/Health Education Program.
The goal of the Safety Smart Program is not only to teach students valuable safety skills, but also to have the students put these skills to use outside of the school environment. A valuable tool to help us evaluate the effectiveness of the program is the parent survey. We ask parents/guardians to please take a few minutes to complete an online Parent Survey so we can determine how, if at all, the instruction is being put to use.
Select summer enrichment classes are still open at Cherry Hill High School East in drama, art, photography, graphic design, model rockets, knitting, chess and more for Cherry Hill residents entering grades 5-11.
